Galaxy-Class Rear Formation Light Insert

1/1400 Scale Upgrade for the USS Enterprise-D (AMT Kit)

Bring your 1/1400 scale Enterprise-D one step closer to screen accuracy.

The original AMT kit leaves out a subtle but highly visible detail: the four rear formation (running) lights located just aft of the torpedo launcher on the secondary hull.

This single-piece 3D-printed insert is designed to correct that.

What This Upgrade Does

✔ Adds the four aft formation lights
✔ Corrects an overlooked studio detail
✔ Designed for fiber optic lighting (0.5mm recommended)
✔ Clean, symmetrical placement for accurate alignment
✔ Integrates into the lower secondary hull

When illuminated, this small detail adds a surprising amount of realism — especially on a fully lit build.

Designed For Serious Builders

This upgrade is intended for intermediate to advanced modelers comfortable with:

  • Marking and removing a section of the kit hull

  • Undercutting and test-fitting parts

  • Restoring lost grid lines if necessary

  • Installing fiber optics for lighting

Dry-fit before final installation — especially if integrating into a lighting plan.

This insert was designed around the original AMT 1/1400 Enterprise-D tooling. Some adjustment may be required for reissues or modified hulls.

Why It Matters

On a model this iconic, it’s the small details that elevate the build.

The four aft formation lights are visible in filming miniatures and on-screen references — but absent from the base kit. This insert allows you to bring that missing detail back where it belongs.

Subtle. Accurate. Intentional.

Product Includes

• (1) 3D-printed Galaxy-Class Rear Formation Light Insert
• Designed for 0.5mm fiber optic installation

Kit, lighting materials, and fiber optics not included.

If you're building the Enterprise-D with lighting, this is one of those upgrades that separates a good build from a great one.

Precision matters.

And the Enterprise deserves it.
