The P-40C Tomahawk (Academy 12280) is a 1/48 scale model of the early-war Curtiss fighter that served with both the United States Army Air Corps and Allied forces during the opening years of World War II. As one of the first mass-produced variants of the famous P-40 series, the Tomahawk played a key role in early campaigns in China, North Africa, and the Middle East, including service with the legendary Flying Tigers. Though not as fast or high-performing as later fighters, it earned a reputation for ruggedness, durability, and effective low-altitude combat performance.

Academy’s kit captures this historic aircraft with accurate early P-40C features, finely recessed panel lines, a detailed cockpit, and optional marking schemes representing both USAAF and Allied service aircraft.
